Rug Restoration
Frankly, every rug needs TLC at some point: A puppy-chewed corner, wool moth damage, or normal wear forlorn by the ravages of time. Renaissance weaves hope back into your rugs, one stitch and knot at a time. Serving the Portland metro area and beyond since 1999
From simple edge repairs to intricate restorations, Prudent expert oriental rug repair can revive your rug’s beauty, preserve its beauty and value, and ensure it remains a cherished piece for generations.

However, when inexperienced hands do haphazard repairs, they can do more harm than good—causing irreversible damage, reducing the rug’s value, harming esthetic appeal, and accelerating its deterioration.

We avoid machine binding, surging, and adhesives on hand-woven rugs. These shortcuts, while economical, destroy the aesthetics, value, integrity, and collectability of Antique rugs and carpets.

A stitch in time saves nine.
Not all repairs have to be costly. Addressing small issues early—like loose ends or frayed edges—during routine cleaning can prevent major (and expensive) damage down the road.
At Renaissance Rug Cleaning, we specialize in catching these early signs of wear and reinforcing your rug to protect it from the effects of time, moths, and everyday life.
Our proactive approach to rug care today means fewer repairs tomorrow.

AREA RUG ALTERATION RESIZING
Size matters. Is that existing area rug too big to fit in your new home? We are experts at altering area rugs to different sizes. Perhaps you have found that Nepalese dream rug available in 10x14 that needs to fit a 10x10 space; we can help. We can resize that rug flawlessly to your desired size while maintaining the authentic look and value.
We work with Portland's top rug retailers & designers with such needs.
Rug Reweaving

An example of rug reweaving with a vintage Turkish rug from the mid-1990s.
Rug reweaving is expensive and not always a financially logical option. In this case, it was, and we used the original production yarns from this Turkish rug producer to repair this rug and restore to its original condition. We carry a large library of wool, cotton, and other natural fibers from our travels worldwide to repair oriental rugs.
Reweaving a rug is a highly specialized labor-intensive skill.
